Handknotted Zeigler. 100% Wool. In 1883, Zeigler and Co. of Manchester, England, established Persian carpet manufacture and export in Arak, IRAN. They employed British designers to modify fanciful 16th- and 17th-century Eastern designs. Using the best artisans from the region, Zeigler created rugs with bold, all-over patterns and with softer palettes than the more vibrant Persian counterparts. Nowadays, Zeigler is used as a generic name for this distinctive style of carpet, many of which are now produced in Afghanistan and Pakistan
